The government plans to amend or legalize 3.3 million hectares of oil palm plantations currently located in forest areas. This measure aims to improve the governance of the palm oil industry, which was previously deemed unregulated.
The legal basis for this amnesty refers to Articles 110A and 110B of the Job Creation Law (Ciptaker), which regulate business permits in forest areas and sanctions for violations.
